In the autumn of Fonyód, it is not a weaker summer city edition. Other types of trips are based on less beach, more walking, longer lunch, a pre-looked excursion. If you're looking for a constant evening's busy, you should choose a very conscious time. However, if you are attracted to the view of Lake Balaton, the highways and days at your own pace, you do not have to wait for the next July.

The key to a good fall weekend is not to check out as many places as possible. Have a sure outdoor plan, a controlled lunch place and a rain change. The rest were free to decide there. This guide helps: we separate September, October and November options and give you a two-day plan.

Fonyód in September, October and November

September: the post-summer transition

It is worth planning an outdoor day in September, but don't treat beach as a guaranteed program. The temperature, wind and water of that day decide what feels good. A high-beach walk, a market morning or a field trip can take the day without swimming.

This is the month when it is particularly easy to miss from summer routine: your favorite buffet, terrace or rental can operate in a different order. First look what's open and then build a program around it. The cruise also depends on the given daily schedule.

October: walk, forest and a good lunch

In October, the mountains in Fonyód and the high coast can be at the centre of the sun. The timing of the foliage varies from year to year, so we do not promise a golden forest for a specific weekend. The shorter days, however, should be counted: take the larger walk in the morning or early afternoon, leave the coffee at the end.

After the rain, the forest trail can be slippery and muddy. The same phase, which was a light walk in the summer, requires attention with a wet twist. If you have arrived with a child, an older companion or a more insecure leg, do not make it compulsory to reach the lookout.

November: less location, more peace

By November, you'd better make one or two good stops a day. Short coastal walk, scheduled lunch, afternoon covered program: this is more predictable than five different seasonal locations. The wind on the beach can make a lot of difference to the heat, so the coat and the right shoes are worth more than the overcrowded road map.

Walks and panorama: I would start from here

Szaploncay promenade: the shorter panorama program

The high bank and historical villa are a good match for a long walk. At the Szaploncay promenade, Balaton and the other side of the witness mountains give the background; it does not require a full day's tour. In a clear time, it's worth giving you time to look at, not just going from one point to the next.

Also include access to the promenade and return to the program. In the hilly parts of Fonyód there can also be a rise between places that look close to the map. If you come with a baby car or more difficult family member, look ahead.

Sipos Hill and Castle Mountain: if you really move

The mountain walk is a different type of program than the coastal skating. Make sure you have the right shoes, a drink and enough light time. There is no need to compress both mountains into one afternoon: choose a direction which is convenient for the slowest member of the team.

Important difference: the possibility of walking in the forest does not mean that the lookout building is also open. Check the current opening before viewing. If it's closed, don't build the sun on this one point.

Party walk: when you don't need a top attack

There are weekends where a shorter waterfront walk is exactly enough. Besides the Árpád coast or a walk around a port, it is easier to organize a coffee and lunch stop than for a longer forest circle. However, do not take the operation of the beach buffet automatic and have a shorter version for windy time.

What's open in Fonyód in the fall?

There's no one answer for this whole season. It can be different from normal and weekend operations, and closing a terrace does not necessarily mean closing the entire restaurant. Our proposal: choose the type and mood of the place from the guide, check that day's opening from the host's own fresh communication or telephone.

The Wednesday and Saturday days of the market in Fonyód give good grasping to plan one morning. Do not mix the market circle with an entire day's festival: come in the morning, look and have a next comfortable stop. On holiday weekend, check for possible discrepancies separately.

Don't just look at the place closest to the water for lunch. It also matters whether there is an indoor seat, a reservation is required and if all members of the company find appropriate food. You should ask the rules of the terrace and the interior with a dog.

A two-day autumn weekend in Fonyód

If you only had one day, I'd choose Saturday's plan. If you come for two nights, don't make up for the whole week on Friday: arrival, dinner, rest. On Saturday, it feels so much better to go without trying to get over the rush last night.

Fonyód with dog or child in autumn

With a dog in the autumn weekend planning, walk and sit-in stops are counted together. A dog-friendly terrace in good weather is not necessarily a solution that can be used in cold rain. Ask him about the indoor reception and don't automatically assume a dog entrance next to an indoor bath or museum.

With a child, don't look for the most locations. You're looking for the best rhythm. A short walk, food, an interesting stop, then a rest. The hill terrain, the wet stairs and the previous darkness should be counted in advance. Babycarriage route and forest tour are not the same category.

You can also start with the company when you choose the apartment. The panorama is a value, but the ascending approach is not convenient for everyone. The distribution of bedrooms, the interior stairs and walking paths are as important as how well the view in the photo looks.

Badacsony and the neighbourhood: Fonyód be the base

You don't have to spend every minute of a weekend in Fonyód within the city limits. Badacsony, Kishegy of Balatonnelle, Balatonpines or Kaposvár can offer ideas for a different kind of day. First decide what you want to do: mountain walk, wine stop, iron ride or cover program. Then pick a target.

At Badacsony, the ship is not a promise for the whole fall. Check the BAHART schedule for departure day, including return time. If there's no proper flight, you don't have to come up with a plan B at the port. And when you're on a road trip, count the distance of the overshore target by road, don't start from the straight line over the lake.

You can schedule a wine or cellar visit program in advance and make sure the driver doesn't have to taste it. A short trip may be the highlight of the weekend; it will not be good to put all known sites in Balaton.
