The sun can be gathered around a movie
If you don't want to drive around all afternoon, a proper screening could be a good local stop. First pick the movie and the time, then adjust the lunch or coffee. So it doesn't come out at the last minute that the show starts right in the middle of dinner.
With children and rain
For family programs, check out the age rating, the game time and whether you choose a synchronized or inscribed performance. Cinema as a location doesn't make every movie a children's program.
The projection is an indoor program, but the approach is not covered all along. Give me time to park, get tickets and get in. If you need an accessible approach or any other specific assistance, consult the cinema in advance. As a dog indoor program, you should only plan it after separate confirmation.
It's a rainy afternoon of life belts, but for a good movie you don't have to apologize in the sun. In fact, sometimes it's really nice to get out of the Balaton program competition for a few hours, sit in a comfortable chair and let someone else take care of the story.
This is particularly big in a city where, for many years at most, it was the memory of the former garden theater and the motion cinema that sometimes arrived. Cinema Fonyód opened in April 2025 at the entrance to the Sunshine campsite, and is not a seasonal emergency solution: real film theater operating in winter summer with premiere films and online ticket shopping. In addition, the country was built as its first feature cinema - in the worst case - with a single structure. We're so happy to have you.
The outlying building inside is more serious than you'd expect at first glance. In the main hall there is a modern digital projector, 28 square meters of canvas and comfortable cinemas, and at the end of 2025 there was also a second room with 38 people. Thanks to this, they can host several films at once: family stories, spectacular premieres and evening movies for adults are also easier. In the first year, more than 30,000 viewers visited here at around 1500 screenings - this is not a minor cultural achievement compared to the size of Fonyód.
Cinema Fonyód also does not project films exclusively. Before the big screen, a podium was created, so sometimes it also provides stand-up evenings, theatre performances, film clubs, audience meetings and other cultural programs. It is therefore worth looking at the programme even if nothing is drawn from movie posters.
It is appropriate to look at the show and tickets in advance, especially on rainy summer days when Fonyód's holiday audience reaches the same brilliant idea. Of course, you will also get the accessories for the movie experience in the cafeteria because without popcorn you can watch a movie, only much less festive.
It started out as a rain program, but it could easily be one of the best nights of vacation. What if the sun is out there? The Balaton will be there after the film.
