Yeah. The city's official briefing is about 800 metres away from the station, which means you can easily reach it without a car - with a package and large heat, count on the walk.
Vaccination book, leash, water, bowl, feces bag and a shadow solution. A muzzle and check of the rules of the chosen flight may also be required for trains.
Come early this summer weekend, or pick the late afternoon. The southern heat is not a program for the dog, and the waterfront is most friendly before sunset.
It's not like the dog is watching the family from next to the towel. You can go into the water together, and at last you don't have to organize a special program for two-legged and four-legged.
The first official dog-friendly beach at Lake Balaton was opened in 2016. The coastline behind the port and the water police provides over 10,000 square meters of nurtured grassland with shade trees, separate dog waste collectors, traditional beach stairs and rampage entrance. The atmosphere is community: at peak times there are many, but because of the size of the area it usually does not feel like everyone is fighting for the same two square meters.
The beach also has a buffet and a SUP rental, so a quick splash will easily be a full day program. According to official rules, only use the bathroom with suitable vaccines, chips and a healthy dog with dewetting; do not use the bathroom with a hot or aggressive dog. The policy is not a set: it leaves a good place for everyone to watch their own dog and the others.
From 15 June to 31 August, 9: 00-19: 00 per day. Adult: 1 200 HUF, student / pensioner: 600 HUF, dog: 1 200 HUF per day. Up to the age of 6, you can benefit from the Fonyód and Fonyód Card privileges listed on the city page. Click on the official page before leaving, because prices and conditions may change.
Highlighted dog place
One of the most famous dogs' bathrooms in Balaton, with more than 10,000 square meters of grass space, rampage water entrance and Badacsony panorama.
The train station is a walk of not more than a few minutes; at summer peak, you do not leave the arrival until noon.
8640 Fonyód, a kikötő mögötti partszakaszAt the SUP base near the bathing site, beginners can try, and braver dogs can stand on board with their four-legged companion.
Active program
Sup rental, sunset row and dog water adventure right at the dog's bathroom.
The wind and the wave will decide. Always check with me before you leave, and don't let the water get out on the beach that day.
8640 Fonyód, Kutyás FürdetőhelyDon't start with a long trip. First, you let the dog know the board near the beach, and only go if both of you are calm. A more stable, larger board helps beginners; the life jacket also gives a good swimmer a handhold when it needs to be raised back.
The service is weather and season dependent. By telephone consultation, you don't only save the unnecessary journey, but you also find out which board and shift fits you.
Not all dogs have the same program. There is an easy panoramic walk, a longer waterfront swing and a long view.
Panorama, easy walk
Villas on one side, Lake Balaton and volcanic hills on the other — one of Fonyód’s best short walks.
It is especially beautiful before sunset; there is no need to hurry due to the panorama of villas and the other side.

Stronger, darker tour
A large iron lookout with a serious panorama; the way up is short, but fair.
It's intense in heat. Take water and leave in the morning or late afternoon.
8640 Fonyód, Sipos-hegy
Long waterfront dancing
The longest, air-conditioned beach in Fonyód with a runway, buffet breaks and plenty of private space.
It is a lively, protracted coastline; the rules of the designated beaches are also respected here.
8640 Fonyódliget, Árpád partImportant: the promenade and shore are not automatically a dog's bathroom. Walk on a leash and bathe the dog in Lake Balaton are two separate things; for bathing, choose the designated dog beach.
The rules of the terraces and seasonal opening may vary. Where you can be sure, make a call before departure; even the dog-friendly place may have limits on a full summer's night.
Dog-friendly terrace
It's an old meeting point in the middle of the Arpad coast, where besides the view at Balaton, it really does feel better.
In the middle of Árpád coast, the panorama also goes next to the dog-view.
8640 Fonyód, Árpád part 24.There are many places in Fonyód that do not build separate marketing around dog-friendly operation, yet they welcome you on the terrace. Ask him, pick a side table and have water. You're gonna do better than any old Internet list.

Don't go for a long walk in the South. Take your own water, check the asphalt with your hands and look for a real shadow - the car is not a waiting place.
After the mountain and grassy parts, check out the fur, ears and paws. To protect against ticks, check with your own veterinarian before you travel.
Several veterinary offices are available in Fonyód, but the order time and duty may vary. Don't build on an old opening: make a call before departure, and in case of urgency, ask for immediate emergency guidance.

In the autumn · design guide · September 2, 2026.
In the fall, you don't have to build your dog's Lake Balaton sun around your bath. The snooping, a short panoramic section and a well-hit break are often enough. The following are our own walking plans that can be converted back and forth: unchecked and instrument-measured hiking trails, non GPX tracks. The specified time is a comfortable design frame with rest; the actual length depends on the turning point.
All three plans are meant to be a leash walk. On-the-spot tables, closures and entry conditions shall take precedence. No route gives you the right to enter private areas, beaches, sports grounds or guest spaces.
Starting point: The area of the Szaploncay Café and the museum. March: Stay on the designated promenade, proceed by the villa to the statue of Maria and return on the same route. If you've had enough looking around, you can turn around early.
Design framework: 30 to 50 minutes. Area: built-up promenade with a level difference in places; access to the high sea may be more steep depending on the approach chosen. The wet wind and the pebble surface may slip. This is not an accessibility rating.
The dog here will not count the kilometres: leave time for odors and move away from other walkers in the smaller parts. Keep the leash short on the edge of the high bank. The coffee-house stop is only part of the day if the opening and the dog's reception are confirmed in advance.
Rain version: shorten the entrance section in a slight eye balcony. You shall delay it in a strong wind, storm or slippery icy cover; you shall not attempt to trigger the stormy panorama with the forest.
Starting point: Comfort space. March: From the square, walk towards the ship's station and then continue on to the free port promenade. At the next comfortable resting place, turn back to the square. The end of the pier is not mandatory and the boarding area is not part of the route.
Design framework: 20 to 40 minutes. Area: typically covered, with climb smaller than the mountain variety. In return, it's more open, exposed to the wind with foot traffic. Next to the water, watch out for the length of the leash, wet surface and port work.
This is a good choice if you want short breath or the dog gets tired sooner. From the renewed port, BAHART's communication of 2026 gives a background; this is not the day-to-day travel status or dog registration certificate. Return to the section sealed with a table.
Rain version: Stay close to the square, don't go out on the edge pier. Design the seat with a preconfirmed dog reception; without this there should be a short walk and return to accommodation.
Starting point: The forest entrance opposite the Hungarian Balint Elementary School in Palona, near the outdoor sports park. March: to avoid sports equipment, choose a well-followed open forest path, proceed for 10-15 minutes and then turn back in the same direction. Don't make a circle of unknown paths.
Design framework: 25 to 40 minutes. Area: Earth, avalanche, roots and ascenders. The starting forest section can also be muddy; this version is not recommended as a stroller or hard-moving dog route. You don't have to go up to the lookout, you don't have to build on an entrance and an open view.
I want you to keep the leash short around the school and leave the gates, crossings. Stay in the forest on the road: don't let your dog pick out the next wild spot. Take water and wipes or towels to the muddy paws.
Rain version: I'd rather stay in the forest than in wet soil. Make it a short, securely walkabout; in a strong wind and storm none of the wooden routes is an appropriate alternative.
The open space and dog-friendly interior are not the same. Ask him about the actual day of your trip, the size of the dog and whether you're in or on the terrace. Until there's an answer, the cafe should be a possibility, not the only rain plan of the whole day.
Water, bowl, bag, leash and towels for all three walks. Go back in the light of the day. Don't leave the dog in a car until they're looking for an undercover program without him.
