The free beach on Báthor Street is one of Fonyód's quietest, least picked-up bathrooms. It hides in the lower ground a little further away from the summer round of the center, so it's especially for those who don't necessarily mean loud buffet, water park and all-day bustle during the beach in Balaton. Here there is little fuss: there is balatonese water, nurtured grass beach, some shadowy trees and plenty of peace.
The beach is not big, yet we rarely feel crowded. The water is slowly deepening, so it can be a good choice with smaller children and the beach also has playground, bathroom, shower, dressing facilities and sports grounds. The bathing water is excellent, and the mountains of the north coast are drawn from the beach. It's not the beach that wants to impress me at all costs - it's just nice to be on it.
If you are hungry, you can find buffet meals in the immediate vicinity and you can park free of charge outside the beach and in the surrounding streets. It is particularly easy to reach it with a bicycle pair, as the Bicycle Circle in Balaton also passes directly next to it.
We also tend to forget about it - he does his job so quietly in the shadow of major beaches in Fonyód. And then when we're back around here, we always find out how good it is to have one. It's perfect for a morning or late afternoon dip, a baby nap, a book-reading in the grass, or just to avoid the summer bustle of the center.
If you're looking for a capital beach experience in Lake Balaton with all kinds of attractions, it's not necessarily your favorite. But if you want water, grass, peace and a lovingly old-fashioned free beach, it can easily be.
