Friday evening at quarter to eleven in Fonyód - The crickets will not be the loudest.
The night of the RockBalaton on Friday at 7 August will reach its peak at 22: 45pm. It will be on the stage of the Sunshine campsite by one of the most inescapable base bands of Hungarian heavy metal, the IED.
This isn't just another festival concert. The Explosive was there at the birth of the home metal, and he put this music on stage with such force that it had to fight for every sound. The total metal released in 1986 was the first Hungarian heavy metal album to enter the music history - and in 2026, it was only 40 years ago that it spoke.
The band's name is accompanied by songs and concerts such as the symbol A, the Poker Machine, Total Metal or Rock and Roll to All Death. These are not just old numbers: common metalhymns of many generations. They can be recognized by the first riffins and are usually sung together by the audience before the chorus even starts.
The location gives a particularly strong set for this. Summer night, camping, trees, Balaton, festival crowd - then the guitar wall arrives, the amplifiers roll up and everything else will disappear for a while. This is the night after which you wake up a little bit, but satisfied.
If you like classic Hungarian rock, it's a mandatory program. Anyone who's never seen a Poker Concert is an excellent opportunity to experience how 40 years of domestic heavy metal live, with full volume.
It is worth arriving early because the Friday program is already strong, and Karthago plays before the Poker. Access is possible with RockBalaton Day ticket or festival rental.
Important: the concert is not a dog-friendly program due to expected volume, light effects and high mass. The four-legged family members should be able to provide a quiet accommodation for this evening. The use of hearing protectors in small children is highly recommended.
There will be no background music next to Lake Balaton.
