Forty years. A stage. A Steel Heart.
There are bands that write songs. And there are some that give words to an entire generation of people who might never be able to say otherwise.
Ossian is one of the latter.
Four decades ago, the band founded by Endre Paksi and Zoltán Maróthy has been one of the inescapable forces of Hungarian heavy metal. The Ossian songs are not just about the volume and heavy guitars: honor, loyalty, perseverance, loss and the stubborn inner strength that keeps you standing when everything else seems to fall apart.
"Steel heart, beating again, Steel Heart, never stops."
This line is not simply sung by people. Thousands roar together, fists high - because they all feel a little bit like yours.
In 2026, Ossian celebrates the 40th anniversary of its existence and on August 8th, RockBalaton's audience can also be a part of this story. The great hymns of life's work can be silenced, the old classics and the songs that have grown up, loved, lost and rose again.
This isn't just another concert in the summer program. Meeting a band that has been telling you the same thing for 40 years: stay true to yourself, get into life and never give up.
The sun goes down behind Lake Balaton. The guitars will ring. There are thousands of throats in the same chorus.
The Steel Heart is beating again in Fonyód on August 8.
