You'll come back when you hear the elephant rumble, won't you?

Few bands can tell you that the same five people have been on stage for nearly half a century. The Karthago can.

The band founded by Ferenc Szigeti in 1979 is one of Hungary's largest rock legends. Its members - Ferenc Szigeti, Tamás Takáts, Attila Gidófalvy, Zoltán Kiss and Miklós Kúándi - have written the story of the band together from the beginning. It was not generations that changed behind the name: today, the same five musicians still play the songs with which they filled the country's concert halls in the early '80s.

Karthago's music is melodic and generous rock music: strong guitars, keys, multilingual vocals and instantly recognizable refrens. Hard but not cruel; monumental, yet human. It's a music that you can listen to with your fist in the air just like singing with your eyes closed.

Their most famous song, Requiem born in memory of a young fan who died after their concert in 1981. Originally, they only wanted to play it once, but the audience's reaction changed everything. The song became Karthaway's eternal anthem, later won an international festival, and in Austria it was a gold record success for the band.

"Will you come again when you hear the elephant rumble?"

And they're coming. Over and over.

M Requiem Next to the classics that summon Hungarian rock brightness like On the path of our fathers, a Eastern night, a No one's daughter, a Cross past the past, the The money or Without friends. Even those who thought they didn't listen to Karthago will know part of the chorus.

The symbol of the band is not an elephant by accident. The Carthaway concert is loud, dignified and unstoppable - while members play together with humor, love and visible joy. This is not a memorial show that has been going on in the past, but five outstanding musicians' alliances still functioning today.

That's when the elephant rumble comes in.

A little taste of a former RockBalaton concert by Karthago:

On the evening of August 7th, the sunset in Balaton will be replaced by stage lights, the first chords will ring, and Hungarian rock history will go through Fonyód.

This concert isn't just for old fans. It's for everyone who wants to experience it live once in a while what it means when a band still turns its audience into a real community after forty-seven years.
