Our opinion

Fonyódliget's 1250-metre Recortane track is one of the runners where the environment alone performs half the motivation. You are on the long open line of the Árpád coast, next to you at Lake Balaton, opposite the witness mountains, and in good time you will get a sunset for which you would otherwise stand separately. We're running out of miles here.

The track is not a stadium circle, it's a long-distance coastal route. This gives you freedom: you can run a short distance, build multiple repetitions with tempo training or connect it to the surrounding bicycle ride and quieter streets. Recortane has a gentler sense than asphalt, but you're still in an outdoor used space. Walkers, children, dogs and cyclists can also appear in the environment, so you should not consider peak-time slalom as a mandatory part-term.

In the summer, after sunrise, you're the best before sunset. The south sun on the open shore is hard, there's not enough shadow, and you can't just take water because it looks good in your sports class statistics. In a windy time, one direction may seem surprisingly easy, and a return may be a personal insult. In winter, the view is beautiful and the coast is quiet, but the cover may be wet, serene or icy; it is the condition of that day, not the stubbornness of the training plan.

Besides the track, the other possibilities of Árpád coast are at hand: bathing in summer, seasonal buffet, playgrounds, looser water programs and a long walk and views throughout the year. If you don't run, it's great to walk fast. If you run, you'll probably soon have your own turning point and ritual. Stopping at the Kamilla after practice is not part of the official course, but it must be considered from a local perspective.
