Our opinion

Most people in Fonyód refer to the Fresh Bakery as simply Albanian bakery. It's not the most exciting gastronomic destination in town, nor is it worth counting on him for something he never signed up for. If breakfast pastries are a special experience, or if you want to bring home a really good bread, first look at Oskovás or the Fábian Bakery. But if you need something right now, the Fresh Bakery has a good chance of solving it.

It is located not far from Ady Endre Street, the centre and the railway station. It opens early, stays open for a long time and is particularly valuable in Fonyód: it can also be expected on weekends. When the traditional bakery closed down a long time ago, or it turns out Sunday morning that there's not a single piece of bread in the apartment, you might find something here.

The selection is abundant and predictable: bread, flint, buns, sweet and salty pastries, as well as quick-moving, more nutritious pieces are lined up in the counter. It is not necessarily about fine details, long ageing or meticulous presentation of the origin of raw materials. It's more about you coming by quickly, choosing something, and a few minutes later, you can go on.

In Fonyód there is a more honest kifli, more exciting bread and a larger bakery tradition. The strength of the Fresh Bakery is not in them, but in their contact details. It doesn't matter whether it's a weekday or weekend, you leave early for a trip, you arrive late at the hostel, you may remember during the day that there is no breakfast at home: they are almost always expected.

You don't have to turn every purchase into a gastronomic program. Sometimes you just need bread. Or some quick breakfast for the kids. Maybe a pastries that can be eaten in a hurry to get to the train. In these situations, the Fresh Bakery gives you exactly what you need.

To Oskován for quality, to Fábian for traditional Fonyód flavors and to the Fresh Bakery when it is most important that something be open.
