One of the main characters of the 20th August Fonyód evening is New Babylon, which has been continuing Omega's musical heritage since 2013. They do not simply play the most famous songs: six young musicians are trying to return a monumental yet strangely personal sound that has made Omega's numbers shared by generations.
This is the concert where half of the audience probably knows the song from the first tactic, and the other half on their way to find out that he knows these numbers. The big Omega hits don't require any special musical training: one summer night, an outdoor stage and a few thousand people who know exactly when to sing together.
The more dynamic, youthful performance of the band does not treat Omega's life work as a museum object. Instead, it shows that these songs still work today and do not only mean something to those who listened to them at their original appearance.
The concert is also part of a big holiday night. Before that, the Fonyód Bytyars and the Dwarf Dance House will arrive, then DJ Tib's retro party will continue with the program, and at 22: 00 the fireworks will start. It is therefore worth not falling in at exactly 8: 00, but taking a good place all night in Vigadó Square.
