The lake is not the only place around Lake Balaton to watch. The birds of Berek, their tiny aquatic creatures and their diverse habitats show a very different world to those who spend time watching them. The September nature study of the Berek World Visitor Centre provides a shared opportunity to explore this.
M Saturday, September 5, 2026 between 13: 00-14: 00 At a held time in Fonyódligett, the visitors meet before the visitor center. The one-hour program can be a good choice for those who would not only walk past nature, but also know what lives around them more closely.
Nature gives the theme of that day
The content of the occupation is adapted to the season and weather. The possible activities include bird monitoring, water sampling and testing of small aquatic organisms and a short natural knowledge walk. In other cases, creation can be promoted: making an insect hotel, a bird's house or an artificial plant, or drawing and capable of processing observations may also be part of the offer.
These are optional topics dependent on weather and given occasion, not guaranteed programme points concentrated in a single hour. The interesting thing about the profession is that attention will be adapted to what nature shows on that day. They can provide information on the precise activities of 5 September at the time of prior notification.
Closer to where we'd go next.
Time in nature can also be memorable by learning to notice something that we have not noticed before. A move in the reeds, a strange form or a very small creature. Joint observation can also start good conversations for children and adults, and may give new aspects for the next walk.
The organizers provide binoculars for all participants, so the absence of this is not an obstacle. But we're gonna need comfortable weather suits and proper shoes. Anyone may apply for the occupation; participation shall take place on their own responsibility.
