After three days of rock, we still have one last concert left.
On Sunday night, at 11: 30, you get an easy audience. Three days of concert, beach, beer, dust, little sleep and a lot of volume in everyone's legs. A P Mobil's job is therefore not just to get on stage, but to bring out the last reserves of power from the RockBalaton audience.
At least they have something to work on.
A P Mobile's story dates back to 1973, and its roots lead to the former Gesarol band. The band has been replaced by singers, guitarists and complete ages over the last six months. Gyula Vikidál, Péter Tunyogi, Rudán Joe, Sándor Benzlik, István Cherhadi and Egon Poka were also associated with the name P The story of mobile.
Let's be honest: today's stage P Mobile is not the same band we hear in legendary footage from the '70s or' 80s. It can't be. The time passed, the stage had been transformed many times, and there was an inescapably thick nostalgia layer around the old songs.
But nostalgia alone is not enough for a festival closing concert.
The question will be whether the band will be able to give the classics a real weight again this evening. Because if the Two-forint song, a Keep going., a Miskolc, the Last cigarette, a Rockseker or Reservation It just goes off as a mandatory number, so nobody forgets that the next week starts Monday morning.
But if the sound is right, the band and the audience will catch each other, these songs still work. Not because they're old, but because they were born for strong riffs, memorable refrens and real concert situations. In the best moments, there is no need to explain: they are simply howled together by the whole audience.
A P The constant center of mobile remains Lórán Schuster, who has been carrying on the name and repertoire for more than 50 years despite countless member exchanges, conflicts and resuscitation. This is an honorable achievement in itself - but on Sunday night, it will not be the merit of the past, but the concert of that day.
In three days, RockBalaton will march through several generations of Hungarian rock. There will be more sounds, old names, predictable hits and hopefully some unexpected good moments. And then at the end, there's P. Mobile, the night of Balaton and an audience that needs to be squeezed out again.
Let's hope they don't just finish the festival, they close it properly. I mean, on Monday we're gonna have a little sore throat and something to talk about on the way home.
