What makes a meal, an invention or an old craft more than just interesting? Hungaricums are not only known names, but also human stories, knowledge and traditions passed on. The travelling exhibition to Fonyód opens a window for a diverse, common heritage.
M Exhibition of Hungarians from 4 to 11 September 2026 He's waiting for interested persons under the third floor of János Hunyadi Street. The National Foundation is composed of 17 standing display boards, a total of 56 hungaricums to guide you through the world of Hungarian values. The images are accompanied by easy-to-follow presentations: no prior knowledge is required, enough curiosity.
Famous values, new discoveries
The themes lead from gastronomy to inventions to folk art and built heritage. It is precisely because of this that it is exciting to watch the exhibition together: one is called by taste, another by resourceful solutions or traditional forms. During a family visit, it may be a good start to talk about who has met, what their personal memory is related to and which value they would know more closely.
The phone can now be part of the discovery
The exhibition also includes an online quiz that can be opened from QR code. Questions give a player's handhold to look, so the visit can also be a common knowledge test. At the week of the exhibition, organizers draw a gift package among quízt-holders; the exact conditions for participation are to be checked on site.
A cultural detour like this can go well in the days of September in Balaton. If you discover something else besides the waterfront, you don't have to put miles on it: some stories that side by side are enough to look at things familiar.
