The girl in Fonyód you want to see somewhere else

Viki was born in Fonyód and started playing clarinet at the local music school, and then she met really here with folk music and the medium from which her own voice grew. The beginnings of Margaret Island's story are also linked to Fonyód: the first concert of the band was given at the Bél Buffet in exchange for a fiery one, and later came back here regularly to make, work on records and shoot videos. When they interviewed him, Fonyód was almost always mentioned. Not because you mentioned your hometown as a mandatory courtesy circle, but because you seem to be really attached to it. He talked about his childhood, the flavors in Fonyód, the Nostalgia Ice cream, the fiery, the dog beach and the places he would offer to others with good heart. Few people have done so much to make the name of Fonyód not just a railway station or a stop in Balaton, but a lovable place full of personal stories.

And yet: This summer, Viki Fohás' independent evening can be seen by the audience of Balatonboglár, not Fonyód.

What's my heart about?

After Margaret Island was dissolved, Viki did not simply continue with new songs and a traditional solo concert. My heart is playing a total art trip of about 75 minutes, in which music, dance and text are linked.

The performance starts from the feelings of life of generation Y: anxiety, fatigue, inherited patterns, womanhood, borders and fresh start. You ask questions that are unlikely to have a single correct answer:

So this is not a nostalgia night and it's not a simple repackaging of Margaret Island's biggest hits. More like the first, personal and rather brave stage of a new creative era.

Of course, it would be nicer to see all this in Fonyód. Perhaps one day we will also get to the point where a city is proud of its own artists not only when you can write about their successes, but also when you have to give them a stage.

Until then, here's Balatonboglar, just a little further away.

If you can fit into your evening and the price of this ticket doesn't go too far on your holiday budget, it's worth going over. On the one hand, because of a special one-time stage production. On the other hand, it is good to support a Fonyód creator who has taken the city's name everywhere for many years - even when the town could not decide how important it was to him.
