It's not a direct waterfront accommodation, and it doesn't want to look like one. The Ciao Bambino! is more of a calm base in Fonyód: close to the city and market, but already on a quiet street where there is minimal traffic and nature practically begins next to the house. The Balaton is about a quarter of an hour's walk and the dog beach is fast accessible by car.
Since this is also our own accommodation, our recommendation is, mutatis mutandis, highly biased. So let's just look at the people who paid to spend a few nights here.
The Ciao Bambino! more than 150 checked guest reviews show 9,0 points on Bookings. The purity is 9.5, the price value ratio is 9,2 points. In the feedback most often comes cleanliness, comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchens, quiet surroundings and flexible catering. Several of them specifically mentioned coffee and tea prepared for arrival, dishwasher pills, detergents and other small things that are usually only important when they are not there.
There are five separate apartments in the house, each with at least four rooms. There is a smaller, family arrangement and larger, multi-bedroom apartment with private kitchen and bathroom. This is particularly practical if more families want to spend their holidays together, but in the evening everyone would close their own doors behind them. The same thing works in a friendly society: you can have breakfast, talk and organize programs together, while no one has to listen to the snoring of others in one giant shared bedroom.
One of the guest teams arrived at eleven, settled comfortably, went on a trip to Badacsony, and in their opinion, they said they'd be back next year. Others have developed toys for children, the great social space and the terrace. A four-person family had their own terrace, and the children immediately found the garden slide and jungle gym. This is precisely the kind of situation which created Bambino: we ourselves knew how difficult it was to find accommodation for several families where they could be together, but they do not have to sit on each other's necks all the time.
You can come with a dog. The area is suitable for shorter morning and evening walks, while Fonyód's dog bath is a few minutes' drive away. For a weekend trip, you can have two couples together, some kids, friends and, of course, the dachshund. Without him, it wouldn't be complete anyway.
The famous market in Fonyód is at the end of the street, the city centre is easy to reach, and in a near-nature area along the house you can see pheasant or deer with little luck. The beach is not at the gate - we're not hiding this - in return for tonight you are not listening to coastal traffic and summer events.
